Genre-agnostic singer, songwriter and producer St. Humain combines honest storytelling with modern pop sensibilities. Born in Singapore and now based in Sydney, Australia, he sets urban-infused melodies against an electronic backdrop, whilst holding that tension between being a got-it-all-together saint and a fallible earthman.
Inspired by pop starlets such as Dua Lipa, Julia Michaels and Charlie Puth, as well as the rap resurgence, St. Humain’s music is a fusion of contemporary modern soundscapes with urban elements. By channeling his emotions through his songwriting, St. Humain conveys an authentic delivery, allowing a connection between himself and his listeners.
“My songs are always about something in my personal life and I don’t write what I can’t relate to, because I think that at the end of the day we’re all human and are in need of some real authentic connections. Honesty is the motto here”.
St. Humain comes alive with ‘Fever Vibe’, an electro-bop fuelled by the heat of young love. Not a respecter of seasons, here comes an anthem set to teleport northern hemisphere fans and accelerate southsiders into the energy of summer.
With impassioned vocals gliding over sleek pop production, St. Humain reminisces about the early sparks of a relationship. It’s that universal feeling, one which tugs on everybody’s unique experiences with their own flames. Mixed by Simon Cohen (Justin Bieber, Starley) and mastered by Leon Zervos (Amy Shark, Maroon 5, Troye Sivan), ‘Fever Vibe’ thematically focuses on the feeling of being in love, “That spark in the early days of a relationship is highly romantic and being the incredibly idealistic person I am, I tried to distill it to a three minute song", confesses St. Humain. Mirroring the song’s positive message, the single features bright and groovy melodies, animated rhythms and infectious energy.
St. Humain hopes his single will chronicle an exciting time with a loved one, tagging the moment that they made you feel a certain special kind of way. He expresses, "I want the stuff I create to inspire you live the best life you know how: Stirring up your highs, hugging you when you’re feeling shitty, and right beside you when everything’s simply mundane. Each song is a reflection of a certain time in my own life (or sometimes a current reality) and I hope that they resonate with yours”.
Having received both critical and commercial acclaim, as well as reaching over 860 thousand streams thus far and being featured in Apple Music’s “Best of the Week” and Spotify’s “Pop For Life” playlists, St. Humain is certainly an artist to watch. 'Fever Vibe' is St. Humain’s fourth single, distributed by Listen For Pleasure / Capitol Records (USA), currently available worldwide. His highly anticipated debut EP EMOTIONAL SAUNA arrives January 2019.

Having recently collaborated with singer - songwriter Marianne, up and coming Hip Hop wunderkid Axel Brizzy returns to the fray in a smooth R&B laden pop track ‘TIME’, a song that grapples with the struggles of heartbreak between two people in a failing relationship and their plea to see if ‘TIME” will heal all wounds. Bringing along newly minted artiste / producer, 'J.SON', popular Alt R&B aficionado, 'Of Methodist' and pop singer-songwriter, ABBEY - It is an anomaly that one track involves that many different personalities. No stranger to collaborations, Axel Brizzy recounts the process of putting the song together.
“This track will be the first ever that J.SON and I got together and built from scratch. We felt getting Of Methodist on it was perfect because of the story and vibe we had in mind and ABBEY was the cherry on top for the single. Love hasn’t been a topic that i’ve visited often in my previous releases, and I have a lot to get off my chest when it comes to this. I’m hoping the listeners will relate to the words as much as we did during the writing process.” - Axel Brizzy
Incidentally, ‘TIME’ will also be a first for J.SON to be featured heavily on as the main producer of the track and also as a songwriter. “The song is actually a retelling of my own struggles in my relationship and writing/producing this song served as a kind of catharsis for me. I hope that in listening to this song, people will be reminded that being patient and giving love time to develop is important.” - J.SON.
Lets delve in a little further and introduce you to the artists collaborating on this hot new track;
Of Methodist is a singer-producer and visual artist based in Singapore and Chicago. His debut album is due in 2018. Asian Pop Radio got to speak to the musician on our Jenet and Jay John program around that time, we believe by memory, that it was his first radio interview ever!
New to the original music scene but no stranger to gigging, Abbey, first emerged as the lead vocalist of a local cover band and has been a musician for a over 3 years now. Born and raised in Singapore, Abbey's musical journey started with classical piano when she very young and she has been playing the keys since. Despite her classical background, she is mainly inspired by Hip Hop, R&B, Classic Rock, Pop, Punk and even metal. Abbey’s vocals featured in DJ VINAI’s EDM track “Two Of Us” in 2017.
J.SON is a producer and songwriter from Singapore who creates an array of beats and music influenced by R&B, Hiphop and Pop music. His songs typically feature 808 bass lines with trap-inspired drums over vocal melodies and pluck synthesizers. Not new to the Singapore music scene, J.SON has produced with and for many other top Singaporean acts like Jasmine Sokko & Gentle Bones. We spoke to Jasmine Sokko at the time of her debut too! See below.
Born and raised in Singapore, Axel Brizzy is an up-and-coming rap artist who is finally coming into his own and ready to showcase his versatility through his music. Influenced by the likes of Childish Gambino & Kendrick Lamar to name a few, Axel Brizzy is unafraid to push the boundaries with his craft, as displayed in his single “Trigger Happy” where he blends in heavy electronic and EDM elements into the track. With slower paced numbers like “Live.”, the rapper unveils a more sensitive and mature side, dropping the flamboyant and braggadocio style when he decides to. Not one to miss, Axel Brizzy looks to play fast and loose with genres and further experiment with his sound, making every drop unexpected, surprising and refreshing.
Bringing an eclectic electronic twist to his childhood rock influences, Sek Hao’s debut “BE” EP is a fresh take on this genre in an age where many newer acts shy away from organic, rip-roaring guitars and thumping rhythm sections.
The 23-year old indie singer/songwriter/producer recently graduated with a Bachelors in Music, and is announcing his arrival in the scene as an act to look out for with this meticulously crafted selection of songs - a journey that takes the listener from frenzied highs to slow-burning emotional trips, and back again.
This is the thinking man’s approach to contemporary indie rock, and Sek Hao doesn’t hold back. His honest, sometimes blunt, yet always endearing lyrics take centerstage across all of his work, and when juxtaposed with his slightly avant-garde yet pop sensible musical ideas, make this EP a formidable package.
Thankful for having been sent the full EP to load to our Asian Pop Radio 24/7 stream, I listened to each of the tracks as they were loaded to our system for you all to hear and I must say the tracks are a very eclectic bunch of songs that I truly think have something on offer for everyone.
'Choose' is probably the one you are going to hear quite a lot on radio elsewhere and we're about to give it a good push too. It's an upbeat more rocky type of song. Folk that are regular listeners to Asian Pop Radio will probably hear similarities between this and other Singaporean tracks we play, a likeness to some releases from Cadence, or maybe a comparison can be drawn between Malaysia's An Honest Mistake. Sek Hao has some pretty amazing vocal talent as he belts it out in this song.
The title track from the EP 'Be' has a slightly more electronic feel to it. It has a great build up in the opening and is reminiscent of the work of Malaysian producer Darren Ashley. Again the musician shows a great range of vocal abilities in this piece.
A personal favorite lifted from the EP is the track titled 'Driving the Promise', which is perhaps the most experimental song being offered, the most electronic. Listen to it, close your eyes, and create the picture for yourself. This is one song that will transport you to another place.
For us Aussies, 'Be' has been released at the perfect time of the year, Sping is in the air, the days are getting a little bit longer and this EP could easily be the soundtrack to late night parties, drives down The Great Ocean Road' or the perfect wind down to a weekend of sunning it up at the beach.

Peter Noic and Jenet Michelle are back at it again! After reminiscing the great times they had with their first make-up transformations video, it is now up to Peter to turn boring old Jenet into BlackPink’s dazzling member, Lisa!
Animaga 2018 was where Peter and Jenet finally reunited. It was quite a romantic setting as they were surrounded by many people dressed as Goku, or fans standing in line to purchase lewd art of their favourite anime. But it was at the Counter Strike tournament where they started to rekindle their love for gaming. This is when they looked at each other in the eyes and knew this was the beginning of something new. They needed to collaborate on YouTube again!
Watch Peter and Jenet's latest video to learn more about their upcoming podcasts, Twitch streams, and tips on how to master the ‘Lisa Look’:
We reached out for an interview with Jenet to try and dig deeper into the pair's frielationship:
Absolutely riveting stuff. Who can really deny Mr. Noic's emotional jawline that is as sharp as the talons of the Philippine Eagle? You can really tell in their YouTube collaborations they can be incredibly funny when their humour collides.
We can't wait for both of them to release more content! As mentioned above, they're planning to record some podcasts together and we can definitely keep an eye out for more YouTube stuff!
In the meantime, you can listen to when Peter visited us in the studios to record an episode of the Jenet and Jay John Show back in 2017:

Nothing can hold Malaysian artist Nadhira back as she returns with a new single "Hold Me Down" accompanied with a music video and featuring local rapper SXPH!
We last spoke to the artist about her Julyer EP release last year and everything going on about her life! Between then and now, she's taken her time wisely by writing music, delivering and raising her first child, and now releasing her second single. The trap-infused-R&B track is a Bryan B production (previously worked with local and international artistes including Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza, De Fam, Kilafairy and Sean Kingston), that strings gritty beats and a distinct, haunting tune together, a departure from her usual mellow, melodic sounds.

“A past break up was what inspired the song. Every lyric written was exactly what I experienced in that relationship - when you’re finally ready to move on from the heartbreak, they come back and try to pull you back in, which is not a healthy thing to do. When Saph (SXPH) came in and added his flavour to it, it became an even bigger sound to me. Then, images were coming to my mind. Visually, I wanted 'Hold Me Down' to be different, timeless and strong, yet simple at the same time. And that kind of lead to the concept of the music video,” said Nadhira.
The music video was a collaborative effort with Homegrown Productions, local dancers, makeup artists and stylists to help bring Nadhira’s vision to reality. Directed by Afiq Zulkifli, the music video overall has a menacing mood to and aims to have a dystopian feel. The video is complete with the singer gorgeously draped in billowy outfits, backed up by beautiful dancers and an appearance by rapper SXPH.
“Hold Me Down is an exciting project for me and I hope this reaches a wider audience. As an independent singer and songwriter, I hope to keep putting out new music like this and remind people to appreciate and support the efforts local talents make to improve the music industry,” said the Malaysian musician.
We are super keen for Nadhira’s future performances and next single release before the year ends.

Having dropped the ‘Demons’ remixes EP in 2017, showcasing tracks such as ‘Nocturnal’ (featuring London Rap Icon Che Lingo) and ‘Let Me Go’, British-Chinese artist Lui Peng releases a new music video for his latest single ‘No Rush’.
Arriving from China at just nine years old, British-Chinese singer Lui Peng always had a wildly creative side that complimented his affinity for music. He paints a dreamy landscape with his unique aperture on Pop, connecting deeply with fans across a broad spectrum. CLASH called his latest release No Rush a “new pop wonder”.
Intuitive and curious, Lui quickly felt a proclivity for the arts – first drawing, then music. At the age of 19, he started posting covers on Youtube and developed an acoustic approach to pop songs which showcased his talents to the world in raw form.
Lui is an artist caught between two worlds; not just acoustic and produced, Asia and Western Europe, but also the hard, real world of payoff through pain, and the imaginary landscapes that his mind wanders off to.
It’s in this dream landscape that his music lives – and unlike many pop artists today, Lui is not afraid to take you to these places in his songs: beauty, wonder, and child-like contentment are the musical norm.
“I had wanted to write a song like this for a while that was tastefully tongue in cheek as well as being genuinely sweet and romantic.
His latest release “No Rush” is a song that tries to look at the world from a perspective where time is abundant. A concept that often gets lost inside the stresses of everyday life.”, explains Lui Peng.
Its been a busy month for the musician, having been involved at the renowned Music Matters event in Singapore and having taken his music to 5 countries, playing 7 shows across Asia as part of his latest tour.
Pop-Rock outfit ROYAL ESTATE returns with another smashing single ‘ANOTHER’!
After the release of their first single, ‘PACING’ in the first half of 2018, the Singaporean band had been spending the last few months working to finish up their debut EP, have been playing multiple shows, while simultaneously experimenting with their sonic diversity and flexibility in their brand of the Pop genre.
‘ANOTHER’ features the flip side of the band’s sound, stripping away the dance grooves of their previous single to reveal a more introspective and intimate sonic experience. It's ethereal, easy to listen to, and great to put on if you want to let your hair down in the privacy of your bedoroom. The ballad features new lead vocalist, Russell’s voice at the forefront, accompanied by layers of ambient synths reminiscent of bands such as CHVRCHES, The Temper Trap, and The XX.
With two members working in the film industry (Seran at HBO and Russell freelancing at Telescope Productions) the band, with the help of some friends, also filmed a self-produced and self-directed music video. The MV itself has beautiful cinematography that shows a young couple living their lives together in Singapore. The concept itself has a nice modern feel - Russell features as the boy reflecting the couple's best memories, while the girl "glitches" throughout the video, before ultimately being out of Russell's life.
Tell us what you think of their music and MV below the article!
Who are Royal Estate? They are a four-piece pop rock outfit based in Singapore. The band of four friends coming from different musical backgrounds, who strive to bring about a sound that is fresh yet melodic, ranging from quietly introspective atmospheres to grooves that are guaranteed to have you put your dancing shoes on.

Korean pop boy band iKON is set to visit Australia’s shores at the end of next month, so join the hype and discover who they are!
iKON recently made their comeback with title track ‘Killing Me‘ and mini album ‘New Kids: Continue‘. Fans have been super eager for their comeback since their hit song ‘Love Scenario‘ was released earlier this year.
WHO ARE THESE GORGEOUS BOYS?
iKON debuted in September 2015 under YG entertainment. In 2014, they were first introduced in the reality survival program “WIN: Who Is Next” as “Team B”. After they lost, Team B went on to appear in the 2014 Mix & Match which determined the seven final members of iKON consisting of B.I, Bobby, Jinhwan, Ju-ne , Donghyuk, Yunhyeong and Chanwoo. The group released their debut studio album “Welcome Back” in 2015 with “My Type” and “Rhythm Ta” as lead singles. The group leader B.I is also the producer of the album. The album was commercially a success which lead the group to win several best new artist awards from major awards in Asia, including: Mnet Asian Music Awards, Japan Record Awards and QQ Music Awards.
Download our free app where you can listen to Asia-wide hits for free! Find us on Google Play and the App Store by searching "Asian Pop Radio".
In 2016 the group held their first Asia tour “iKONCERT 2016: Showtime Tour" which took place across South East Asian countries. It was a huge success and it earned them recognition on an international level and gained them many more fans.
Because of iKON’s abilities and skills, they have often been hailed as “the successors of BIGBANG”. B.I and Bobby are producers and songwriters as well as singers, and have worked and trained under YG for a long time. Bobby has also entered a TV show for rappers, “Show Me the Money", and won, making him the youngest winner at 18. From time to time they are seen as rivals to their label mate “WINNER” who won the show “WIN: Who is next”.
SHOW ME THE TOUR DEETS:
In 2018, they announced the “iKon 2018: Continue Tour”! The guys are set to visit most of South East Asian countries once again, and this time Australia is very lucky to be included on the list all thanks to the masterminds at Award Entertainment.
iKON are set to visit two cities: Sydney on Thursday 25 October at Bigtop Luna Park and Melbourne on Saturday 27 October at Festival Hall. Tickets are selling out fast for both shows as there are very limited number of tickets left on the website! CLICK HERE FOR INFO
iKONICS (iKON fans) you better get ready to see iKON perform live and see them up close. If you're looking at being one step closer to the stage, the admins of the iKonics Australia Facebook group are also working on a fundraising project for a banner and a welcome cake to be presented to the members as a congratulations on their first Australian tour! You do not want to miss out on this once of a lifetime opportunity. Asian Pop Radio team members will no doubt be front and centre at the concerts
You may have heard that BABYMETAL are coming to Melbourne later this year, but now it has been announced that due to overwhelming response for tickets, the organisers of Good Things Festival (in which the girls are part of the line up), have made the decision to move the event from Melbourne Showgrounds to it's new home at Flemington Racecourse.
With ticket sales being stronger than anticipated, Good Things Festival wants to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to see this incredible line up. The event organisers suggest that the new venue with increased capacity will guarantee the best experience for patrons with space, sound and environment.
Good Things Festival promoter, Chris O'Brien adds “It was apparent the first day we went on sale that tickets for the Melbourne show were flying out the gate. With so many bucket list moments on the Festival we simply had to make the decision to move to a larger venue to accommodate everyone. The Offspring will never perform ‘Smash’ plus a greatest hits set again in Australia so to not allow fans that opportunity along with getting to witness BABYMETAL’s incredible live show with full production for the first time was simply not an option.”
Asian Pop Radio are on the edge of our seats waiting to see BABYMETAL in the flesh, we are counting down the days, we bet you are too! Keep an eye on asianpopradio.com for more details to come on this amazing event.
