Jasmine Sokko returns with her new single ‘F5’. Commissioned by ABC Horizon, a Japanese media company, which is an owned subsidiary of Asahi Broadcasting Corporation, as the theme song for their travelogue, show SensAsia, the upbeat summery banger will be the first release for the singer-producer in 2018. The song, named after the refresh button on a QWERTY keyboard, has been released by Dutch electronic music label KnightVision Records, a Warner Music Europe imprint.
‘F5’ flirts with Asian melodies, filtered through Western sensibilities. Jasmine Sokko shares, “A person with an open mind is more impressive than any places one can possibly travel in the universe. It will take an open mind to absorb new experiences and places. This song channels that particular thought which I want to convey.”
With SensAsia debuting on Indonesia’s popular TV channel NET. TV mid-March, Honda Tamiki, Managing Director of ABC Horizon shares why they have approached Jasmine Sokko, “She is one of the hottest artists in Singapore right now. We believe that she is the most suitable artist for SensAsia’s theme song. The combination of her soft vocals and the urban electronic style makes the audiences feel a sense of mystery. We want this impression to lead the audience to discover somewhere secret and wondrous. With the help of her outstanding music, ABC Horizon hopes to expand SensAsia’s popularity and reach in the world.”
