J.M3 comes back into the fray after having performed in events that had headliner Jay Park in 2016 & Apl.de.ap from Black Eyed Peas plus Singapore legends Shigga Shay & The Lion City Boy in 2015. Taking a gap year to experiment on her songwriting in 2017, she now presents her latest offering ‘Try’. ‘Try’ is a track that resonates with an aura of optimism in a world where the word ‘NO’ is constantly used. It is a true statement of the continuous strength needed to give something a shot and not give up.
J.M3’s thoughts on the the song. “As I wrote this song, I realised how amazing this small little three letter word is because everything we ever do in life is dependent on this word. Every day when we wake is us trying to have a better day today. Even the smallest thing like you running for a bus, it is you trying not to be late. Every single decision that we make is the choice of trying. It is that fine line between possible and impossible. So many times, we are at the juncture of not knowing if we can do more or should do more and it is during these moments I hope the song can inspire people to keep trying. Because you don’t want to sit down one day having to ask for forgiveness from yourself for something you regret not doing. There is always a million reasons to and a million reasons not to, but the amazing thing is you never know what a huge difference a small choice can make.”
“We were all fearless as children but as we grew up, the accumulation of pain and people telling us what we cannot do has made us fear more and hold back. Bring back that badass and give it a shot - Try.” J.M3
J.M3 is a female rap artist that empowers through her unique blend of groove, rhythm and lyrical poetry. Her music tells compelling stories that ring deep in everyone's heart, embodying strength with a rebellious spirit. Raw and a rebel, she puts together these snapshot moments and ideals in life in her music to share and inspire, and be inspired. Driven to illuminate the idea that rap can be appreciated in many ways than just the predominantly hip hop sound, J.M3 dreams to contribute to the appreciation of this artform with evolving palatable sounds.
‘Try’ sings your rebellious spirit for you, and J.M3 is the alter ego for us to remember we all got that daredevil in us. From today, you will hear it on Asian Pop Radio. If you like it, or just want to support J.M3, you can request it, just head to asianpopradio.com/request and with our clever technology, the song could be playing on-air within 15 minutes. Give it a try (excuse the pun!).!
pop!SUGAR, the duo that brought us the sweet tune 'Taste The Rainbow' earlier this year are back with a hot new track 'Take Me To Mars' and we think it's even better than their debut. Here at Asian Pop Radio, we're all about supporting the new guy, there are so many independent musicians out there working hard behind the scene to integrate the pop scene and its quiet a challenge. These guys have that potential, we think they have something unique to offer and we wait in anticipation to see whats going to happen for them next.
A conceptual electronic pop music act based around sugar-rush inspired adrenalin, pop!SUGAR made its debut in September with the single, Taste The Rainbow together with a lyric video on their Youtube channel. Evident from the title and album art of the debut single, Taste The Rainbow was a song inspired by the multicolored candy known as Skittles. Can you take a guess at the running theme here?
Despite being the new kids on the block, pop!SUGAR signals an able and versatile group set to join the top rung in the contemporary pop music space. Charged with waves of suave glitches, electronic & ethnic elements, their production marries these components harmoniously with plenty of energy to spare.
Take Me To Mars is a song inspired by the popular chocolate bar known as Mars. The narrative of Take Me To Mars tells a story of two individuals struggling through a long distance relationship and one party’s determination to be with the other.
We wonder what the next song will be about? The MUST stick with the running theme right? Perhaps a summer tune about Starburst? Perhaps a love song centred around a 'Picnic'? Maybe its time for a trip down under and a storyline about one of Aussie favorites the Caramello Koala?
Tune in to Asian Pop Radio from today to hear the track, vote for it in our Top 10 Countdown and remember to share this post with your friends on your socials to support this new independant musical outfit.
Support pop!SUGAR by liking them on Facebook (not by licking them as we previously suggested in our first article about them) following them on Instagram and subscribing to their channel on YouTube

Perfect Plush is a Danish pop duo combining the song writing of the 80’s soul-pop with modern Japanese inspired pop productions. The duo consisting of Felix on vocals and Tendo as producer, was selected to the final in a yearly competition hosted by the Danish national radio station called: karrierkanonen. Soon after that they were signed by the Danish legendary DJ Kenneth Bager on his own label Music For Dreams. Since that the duo has worked on adding organic electronic elements into their Danish K-pop universe hat supporting the melodic songs and laid back party grooves.
When asking the band about the song Felix answers: While finishing our EP, Tendo (producer) suddenly came up with this groovy feel-good-beat, which ended up as lipstick. The beat draws inspiration from various genres including '80 pop, Ambient Japanese music and '00s R&B. The song was not supposed to be on the EP, but when I had the song and lyrics down about a week later we knew that we were unto something. The song defined a new sound for us and we ended up ditching the EP and produced a new set of songs around this new sound"
'Lipstick' is now playing on our radio station streaming Asia-wide hits 24/7. Listen here.

Ysa Yaneza has not stayed quiet. She was just featured in FEMALE Singapore’s November 2018 issue celebrating Gen Z artists and musicians, which also included Yung Raja, Fariz Jabba, Celine from Sobs and Ffion. Even Troye Sivan recently reacted to “Tea” and called it ‘vibey’ and ‘nostalgic’.
After releasing her earlier tracks ‘ ‘IRL’ and ‘MAX.’, Ysa felt that nudge to work with other creatives to explore creating new vibes, sounds and a slightly different direction in songwriting. ‘Decide’ is the latest electronic pop single by Ysa Yaneza and ARNT. The collaboration between the two musicians began from their bond as friends. Written from personal experience, the song is about losing oneself in the aftermath of a loss, and gaining strength to continue moving on despite the pain always being there.
"At times, loneliness prevailed. But what I learned over the years was that you are never alone."
Ysa explains “Losing someone close to you and someone you depend on is really heartbreaking. This is something that I struggled to write about for a long time. Until one day, Aaron made this beat within five minutes and I suddenly could convey this emotion through lyrics. A few years ago, I experienced a loss. I felt like I had to pick up the pieces all over again. I was trying to learn how to be independent and to gain strength to continue living. At times, loneliness prevailed. But what I learned over the years was that you are never alone. You can always reach out and create new bonds. You can find your strength again, even if the pain still lingers. Eventually, you find the confidence within you, and you start taking ownership of your true self. We never know when is our time, so just be the best version of you.”
ARNT explains “I wrote the music to convey a sad summer type feel and to retain some Japanese melodic sensibility that is present in a majority of my work. It has a strong chorus that complements Ysa’s sombre lyricism which I think is my favorite part of the song, especially the second chorus where she expanded it with a beautiful vocal line that really lifts the song. I approached the music from a very experimental point of view in the intro and verses in order to minimise the production and to build up to a bouncy chorus. Overall, 'Decide' is personally one of my most favourite songs in my production repertoire thus far, it has a very clear and distinct message and dealing with themes such as loss and moving on separate it from other releases in recent memory. I love music that is sincere and meaningful and I think my collaborator ysa has outdone herself. I could have not been prouder. On that note, this is for you, Ivan.”
'Decide' is now playing on our radio station streaming Asia-wide hits 24/7. Listen here.

Vxn or vōx narratus (voice story) is an indie singer-songwriter duo formed by Calvin and Nico, both are Indonesian songwriter/performers who have worked and ghost-written records for many artists over the last couple of years. Their genre influence is mainly pop-alt, but that doesn’t mean that they are always stuck in just one genre. Now with the local music movement going forward, they both think that it’s time to show the public their creativity and their musical color.
The boys say, "November Blue is all about that feeling of love and the aching feeling that you feel and have inside your heart when you are missing that special someone in your life". From musical perspective, the song itself has elements of Electro Pop-Rnb. "Just like in life there are some feelings that can’t be described or put into words and those feelings are described with all the vocal fillers in the song, to give you that lovely sad-blue vibes" the duo say.
Vin explains "Vin : “I wrote this song for this one special girl and we are miles apart from each other, we're so different yet so similar, we're so far yet we feel so close, she is in a place unknown yet with
her it always feels like home, I hope she gets the feelings that I try to convey to her, even when
everything eventually fell apart, I hope that the fire would rekindle from the ashes that once
Vin wrote the song in November 2017 and had been working on it for almost a year, to find the right
formula for the song to make sure that it would sound just as he intended it to. "It's quite tricky making a song like this, it's like trying to paint the universe that I have inside my mind into
reality, to enable it to come out in audio form, where hopefully everyone can imagine or feel it the way I see and feel it.”
Sophia Fredskild, 20 year old pop singer-songwriter of mixed Malaysian and Danish parentage has just released her first ever Malay song titled, ‘Menanti Cinta’. Followed up with an English version titled ‘Waiting For Love’, which will be out later this month.
Sophia who grew up in Kuala Lumpur, discovered her love and talent of singing at a young age, when she joined her school choir and participated in school talent shows. Learning to play the guitar on her own, Sophia developed a passion for songwriting at age 13. Penning her first ever song titled ‘Shooting Star’. Her ability to write catchy melodies and lyrics lead her to participate in the Short+Sweet festivals at KLPac and open mic venues around KL, where Sophia showcased her original composed songs in acoustic settings. Her drive to have her original songs produced professionally led her to a chance songwriting collaboration with Malaysian DJ/songwriter/producer Cuurley aka Bo Amir with whom Sophia co wrote the English song ‘Go!’. Published under the music labels, Vicious Records (Australia) and Paranormal Records (Malaysia).
Sophia also released her second English collaboration ‘More Than You See’ earlier this year (read more about the release here in our previous article).
