Following the release of his previous chart-topping ballad ‘It’s You’, the evocative songster Sezairi switches gears for his freshest earworm – ‘Mirage’.
Since it's release, 'It's You' has garnered over
2 million streams online and acquired GOLD certification. Apple Music had the song featured in a special playlist representing Singaporean musicians aptly titled 'Songs Of A Nation' alongside Tabitha Nauser, Charlie Lim, and many more.
Lyrically, this latest single showcases Sezairi exploring the complex theme of figmental fixation and what it means to believe in something that may not actually exist outside of the imagination. Obsession is a big underlying message throughout the song with the singer/songwriter himself further explaining:
“We all have times in our lives where we become hyper-obsessed with something that we think will complete us. I kinda wanted to demonstrate that sometimes, what we think is good might not necessarily be the case. Especially when attraction is involved”.
Sonically, the nifty musician finds a new approach to his familiar sound. He gives his vocal chords quite a workout when he lifts the melody into the higher octaves, and elevates our spirits with his own echoes calling back to him. Embedded are beautiful layers of synths and sound effects that mimic how our brains work as machines blended perfectly to the beat. Sezairi worked with producers/writers Brooke Toia (Adelén, Favorite Child) and Harry Sommerdahl (Carrie Underwood, BoA, Westlife) on ‘Mirage’.
Sezairi has been busy promoting his new music, having recently graced the stages of Pink Dot 2018 and SHINE Festival 2018, just to name a few. Keep a lookout for his EP dropping soon and playing onto Asian Pop Radio's livestream playing Asia-wide hits 24/7!
