KUALA LUMPUR, theatrethreesixty is proud to present #wearetheatrethreesixty2018,
the 2018 edition of their annual wearetheatrethreesixty arts festival from the 19th of July through
to the 26th of August 2018, held at Lot’ng Arts Space, Subang Jaya. #wearetheatrethreesixty2018 is a 6-week festival featuring 3 theatrethreesixty productions, incepted and jointly executed by the established and up-and-coming local artistic talents of their local performing arts scene. "Join us in our first productions in a new Malaysia, and see a glimpse of what is in store for the future of the country".
#wearetheatrethreesixty2018 features back-to-back presentations of intimate close-up theatre –
going from a single actor to physical theatre to a cutting edge double bill, all envisioned to keep
you captivated with each one. Artistic director Christopher Ling directs a reworked version of
What am I, a Bloody Banyan Tree? a one woman monologue written and performed by Marina
Tan as well as two inter-linked Bahasa Malaysia plays together entitled Cikgu Disiplin Sekolah Aku
by local playwrights Khairunazwan Rodzy (of Revolution Stage) and Khairi Anwar (of Anomalist
Production) while company partner Nicole-Ann Thomas helms a physical theatre adaptation of The
Fall of the House of Usher by Tarrant Kwok.

Collaborations that work across the archaic barriers of language, race and culture. Multi-lingual,
multi-cultural work that speaks of the Malaysia we know and love will see our audiences continue
to grow alongside a new appreciation for the performing arts,” says Christopher Ling,
theatrethreesixty’s artistic director. theatrethreesixty is a collective of playmakers who are passionate in telling stories that matter by nurturing work from all walks of life, giving writers and actors safe spaces to experiment and grow to pave the way for new Malaysian theatre.
#wearetheatrethreesixty2018 performances in July and August 2018 will be held at Lot’ng Arts
Space, 32-2, Jalan USJ 10/1E ,47620, Subang Jaya. The performances are (A) What Am I? A Bloody
Banyan Tree?: 19 – 29 July 2018, (B) The Fall of the House of Usher: 2 – 12 August 2018, (C) Cikgu
Disiplin Sekolah Aku: 16 – 26 August.
Tickets are priced at RM 43 and RM 33 (concessions for students and the elderly). There is a
#wearetheatrethreesixty018 Festival Pass for all three shows at RM 99 (RM 30 in total off the
standard ticket price for all 3 shows). There is also a flat rate ticket of RM 33 for Tuesday and
