MTV Asia has announced nominations for the 2018 MTV EMAs with Camila Cabello leading the pack. Cabello snagged six nominations including Best Song and Best Video for her chart-topping hit “Havana” featuring Young Thug, as well as Best Artist alongside Ariana Grande and Post Malone, who follow Cabello with five nods each. Drake and Dua Lipa also join the above contenders for Best Artist, scoring four noms each alongside Shawn Mendes, including Best Local Act for all three of their respective home countries.
In Southeast Asia, a total of over 28k votes were cast by fans on Twitter to select the seventh ‘social wildcard’ nominee, Twopee Southside emerge as the seventh nominee to compete for the Best Southeast Asia Act.
The seven nominees for the Best Southeast Asia Act are:
IV of Spades (Philippines)
Joe Flizzow (Malaysia)
Minh Hằng (Vietnam)
Slot Machine (Thailand)
The Sam Willows (Singapore)
and social wildcard winner, Twopee Southside (Thailand).
The inaugural show will air live around the globe from Bilbao Exhibition Centre, Spain. Catch the live broadcast on Sunday, 5 November at 2am (WIB) and 3am (SG/MY) for the red carpet, 3am (WIB) and 4am (SG/MY) for the main show, and across MTV's global network of channels in more than 180 countries and territories. Catch the first encore telecast on the same day at 6pm (WIB) and 7pm (SG/MY) for the red carpet, 7am (WIB) and 8pm (SG/MY) for the main show.
Music fans (AKA YOU) will determine the night’s winners by voting for their favorite artists leading up to the show. Voting is now open at mtvema.com until 3 November at 11:59pm CET.
