The queen of Middle Eastern music Ahlam and the reigning Filipino pop superstar Sarah Geronimo are big winners at this year's Big Apple Music Awards, an award-giving body based in New York, USA. The former was honored with an "Icon Award", while the latter was hailed "Most Popular BAMA 2018 Artist" and "Best Filipino Artist."
Originally, the awarding ceremony plus live performances was set to take place at Dolby Theatre in November 23 but the BAMA 2018 committee cancelled the event out of respect for the victims of the California wildfires. A private gala was held, instead, to present the awards to the winners.
