Asian Pop Radio is proud to announce the arrival of our latest Malaysian track to hit heavy rotation on our 24/7 radio stream, 'Go' by CUURLEY featuring Sophia Fredskild. Stories get told in many ways. Verbally, through pictures, plays, and often times through music. This one in particular is definitely one that will leave a mark in history. Newcomer, Sophia Fredskild has landed a featured singer spot with long-time producer/musician, Bo Amir’s newest project, CUURLEY’s brand new single, ‘GO’. This track is a joint-release by CUURLEY’s label, Vicious, a popular dance music label based in Melbourne, Australia as well as Paranormal Records, where Sophia has been recently inducted into.

Vicious, the Melbourne-based label has introduced the world to artistes like Avicii, Steve Aoki, Angger Dimas, Peking Duk, Dirty South and many more. A label that started 23 years ago has taken Cuurley under their wing and it looks like it is another win for Malaysian artistes creating a buzz beyond Malaysian grounds following the footsteps of Zee Avi, Yuna, Rendra Zawawi and Fish Leong.

This is what Australian label, Vicious had to say:

"We are very excited to welcome the man with undoubtedly the best hair in Malaysia, the Kuala Lumpur native CUURLEY makes his Vicious debut with his fire new single, ‘GO’ featuring the amazing vocals of Sophia Fredskild.

CUURLEY, a multi instrumentalist and go to producer for A-list international artists, brings us a future bass driven track that infuses bright synth work, tropical mallets and heavy basslines over intricate percussion. Consistently pushing boundaries with his style, Cuurley’s new single is a cut above and is sure to have people bouncing all over the world!"

Paranormal Records, on the other hand, home to sweetheart Ayda Jebat and previously Elizabeth Tan have recently acquired 19-year-old singer-songwriter, Sophia Fredskild, of Danish-Malay decent. This is the label’s first step into slightly unfamiliar ground by releasing an English track while previously known for releasing Ayda’s ‘Pencuri Hati’, Elizabeth’s ‘Knock Knock’, ‘Setia’ and ‘Tabah’; all of which are songs in Bahasa Malaysia.

Sophia was introduced to Paranormal Records via a fellow producer/bassist, Efry Arwis. It took the label almost 9 months to prepare and develop her as an artiste. She frequented local venues, often performing with an acoustic guitar. It is a leap in her career from being a singer-songwriter to being a pop star. She is now ready to take on the world with this brand new track with CUURLEY. It is a ‘GO’!

The music video was filmed and edited by the team from The Malaya. The music video features Sophia traveling from her bedroom, to an open field, to riding in a very sleek-looking Mercedes-Benz, to a campfire, to a concert where she performs and finally back in her room by going through a door that represents a gateway. CUURLEY is seen in every scene bringing to light the hook of the song, ‘I’ll follow you wherever you go’. Sophia is seen going to bed and then waking up again at the end of the video as though she is caught in a loop. This concept is to showcase freedom, the joy of youth and to really drive the point of living in the moment; appreciating every second of life.

CUURLEY’S ‘GO’ ft. Sophia Fredskild is also available on all digital music platforms.
