The electro-pop artiste Rozella is back with her latest tune ‘XOXO’.
The Malaysian artist, originally from Borneo, lays down her sultry vocals on a bed of modern pop synths with an 80's drum riff. She has currently amassed 11 New Music Friday playlists on Spotify after 4 days of release of the song. She is one of the very few Malaysians who have been fortunate enough to be featured on the New Music Friday playlist in the US, which is certainly well deserved as the song surpasses the trends led by the likes of Troye Sivan, Charli XCX, Carly Rae Jepsen and Ariana Grande. Rozella has fast become a pop princess!
The songstress spoke to us early last year about being the winner of Tiger Jams 2016 and how her past single 'Home to You' was handpicked for an exclusive remix by Scottish synth pop band CHVRCHES. In this podcast the musician speaks to Jay John about, music, life and creating positive body image. Rozella is planning more music to be released in the coming year and the start of 2019. The future is bright for Malaysian bred music.
The latest single 'XOXO' is Rozella’s ode to music. After stepping into the limelight three years ago, her love for songwriting and performing has deepened. This song is a reflection of the joy she feels every time she’s creating music.
“There’s nothing else in the world that I enjoy more than being in the studio and working on music. It’s like a sugar rush for me. When I’m on stage or when I’m songwriting, the whole world disappears and nothing else matters.”
XOXO is available on all digital music platforms.
'XOXO' is playing on our radio station streaming Asia-wide hits 24/7.
