Evan Low aka Evanturetime, the young producer and brains behind Singapore’s poptronica hits like ‘Sober’ and ‘Vultures’, drops his debut EP, folds worldwide on digital platforms on Friday, May 18, 2018. It features guest appearances from artists like Linying, Charlie Lim, Nathan Hartono, Tim de Cotta, Michael Kaneko and more.
At times playful and lush, introspective yet intense, folds straddles pop and electronica with refined minimalism. Listeners taken up with last summer’s sleeper hit ‘Vultures’ and more recent heady club banger, ‘Sober’ will get to experience the Berklee graduate’s most ambitious attempt yet at a body of work to call his own.
folds vividly captures the reflections and textures of a rising young producer whose calling card has been his ability to draw out the best from his collaborators. The album’s highlights include the sleek finesse of ‘This High’, made in tandem with Singapore R&B/Soul maverick Tim de Cotta, and the electronic-pop ‘White Lies’, written together with Japanese singer-songwriter Michael Kaneko.
In particular, Evan picks out the former for “the perspective of two amazing masters in the control of dynamics in the jazz and R&B genre, Chok Kerong and Tim de Cotta.” Tim wrote ‘This High’ as “a very honest snapshot about struggling to make ends meet doing music in Singapore, but also remembering why it's all worth it at the end of the day - because nothing comes close to how making music makes me feel alive.”
The nine-track album also features the future-bass inflected ‘Sober’ remix from the winner of MTV’s remix contest of the song, XVAN, hand-picked by Evan, Nathan Hartono, Benjamin Kheng and JX.

Evanturetime is the musical alias of Singaporean producer, Evan Low. The multi-instrumentalist wunderkind makes music and draws inspiration from encountered items - be it an instrument or something more unusual like a tree branch. His talent lies in being able to mash all these sounds into one gooey satisfying pile of auditory narratives that converges and collapses together through analysis, mimicry and tough love.
A Berklee College of Music graduate who majored in electronic production and design, Evanturetime has accomplished leaps and bounds in his young career; having produced and performed with artists such as iNCH, Linying and The Sam Willows, to composing for brands such as Adidas, Toyota and Lego, as well as audio engineering for international artists such as David Foster and Nathan East, to name a few.
