After her recent marriage with Australian-born Indonesian actor Hamish Daud, Raisa has broken the hearts of many single Indonesian male (even her gay fans!) that kept fantasising about the potential of dating her. Do you think we're exaggerating? No, we’re not.
Raisa started gaining recognition for her main songs Serba Salah (All I Do is Wrong), Apalah Arti Menunggu (What’s the Point in Waiting), and Could it Be in 2011. Her album has achieved first place of 'chart album weekly Indonesia' and the best-selling album in Indonesia in 2012.
Her achievements to date are uncountable. In this year, she recently won the Best Soul/R&B/Urban Group/Collaboration Artist and the best Collaboration Production work at the same award, Anugerah Musik Indonesia (Indonesian Music Awards), not to mention other music awards.
She is also the musician you know who sang the Indonesian version of the Cinderella soundtrack by Walt Disney, Mimpi adalah harapan hati (A Dream is a wish your heart makes).
To engage with international audiences, some of her songs are naturally in English. “Bye Bye” is one of her popular tracks from her Heart to Heart album, teaching women to love and value themselves, and not to rely on men to provide validation for them.
For these facts alone, it is plain to see why so many Indonesian men and women love this woman. She is talented and an inspiration to so many young Indo kids, in a world where more positive role models are needed, Raisa delivers.
