The Indonesian Film Festival will soon hit the big screen at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), and event organisers have arranged three special events to introduce the Asian Pop Radio audience to Indonesian screen culture in the lead up to the main feature film program. Under The Stars: This free event which will take place on Saturday April 14 at 6pm will feature a screening of the popular teen rom-com 'Galih and Ratna', Its being held at the Motel Baja Courtyard, Immigration Museum, 400 Flinders Street Melbourne. It will also be a chance to play traditional games & enjoy regional snacks. Through The Lens: For a mere $15, head along to Discursive Space, Arts West 553, University of Melbourne on Thursday April 19 from 6.30pm for a screening and academic expert panel discussion of critically acclaimed short films: ‘The Malediction’, ‘On the Origin of Fear’ and ‘Pria’. You will also get to experience an exclusive viewing of ‘Tembus’ (this year’s IFF Short Film Competition winner). 4th Wall: $15 gets you a fun and engaging talk show style event with IFF guest filmmakers as they chat about their careers and the Indonesian film industry in general.This on'e's being held on Friday April 27, 6pm at Navanti Holdings’ Office, 580 Collins St. Level 11. Don't miss out! Educational Screening: At the value packed price of $10.50, you can head to this one for a screening of the all-ages comedy adventure 'Five Eagles'. Its being held on Tuesday May 1 and Wednesday May 2, bright and early at 10am, Cinema 2, ACMI, Federation Square.
