The 13th annual Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) Australia presents a lineup of six diverse Indonesian films from the 26th of April to the 2nd of May, 2018 at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), Melbourne. The event aims to celebrate Indonesia’s burgeoning cinema and promote the appreciation of Indonesian culture in Australia in an attempt to bridge the gap between these two major Asia Pacific nations that are geographically close yet cognitively apart. All films have English subtitles and will be followed by a Q&A session with our guest filmmakers and hosted by Australian film critic Peter Krausz (Movie Metropolis).
The Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) is the most prominent celebration of Indonesian screen culture in Australia. IFF pledges to deliver a high standard of cultural and educational entertainment to audiences of all ages and to promote the appreciation of Indonesian culture in Australia, as well as raising international awareness of the burgeoning Indonesian film industry. IFF was established in 2006 and is owned and organized by the Melbourne University Indonesian Student Association.
