Indonesian idol group JKT48, is loved by Indonesians wide and far and for good reason, they are hugely talented. When so many Indo idol groups have come and gone before then, JKT48 have stood the test of time.
JKT48's name is derived from its based city of Jakarta where they have their own theater in the fX Sudirman Mall. Much like AKB48, the female Japanese idol group formed in 2005 in Akihabara, Tokyo, JKT48 is based on the concept of idols with whom fans can "'meet', or at least develop a similar feeling of intimacy". The concept of the group combines the best of Indonesian and Japanese pop music culture, which is certainly helpful given the sheer volume of fans that are involved on both sides.
